Edmonton speeders, you’d better look up.
In a move to combat speeding, and in an effort to keep photo radar operators safe, the city is set to unleash an airborne fleet of photo radar drones, the Sun has learned.
Sources tell the Sun that the office of traffic safety will be creating a new division to manage the drone program, as part of the city’s Vision Zero program.
The decision was made after several incidents over the years of photo radar vehicles being damaged, and their operators harassed by drivers, sources say.
Both police and union officials declined comment, but Sun sources suggest that both groups are on board, as it’s estimated assaults against operators will be conquered once and for all.
